A digital season ticket will be a disaster
I renewed my st but despite me wanting to give money to WHU the grief I get for laying out is unf@@king believable. The hatred of the club to the fans sickens me but I will not let them win. There is meant to be a app next season for entry to the stadium, now my phone will not download ebay so I know that despite the current system working WHU want to make going to support WHU as hard if not impossible as they can. This decision will end in disaster.

What about if you're a "Must-have Moron" and can't wait for the next release of something even though you haven't even got around yet to setting up the version you spent 8 hours queuing to buy?

It will be absolutely fine unless you're a idiot with a dated phone

Wouldn't be the first time I've been escorted out of an Apple store by security. I got moody in their Bond Street shop once. A long story....

It’s for the best
So that you can get to the Apple store

Before being escorted out for refusing to accept their advice that they can’t breach GDPR by calling some woman you claim to be married to.

Haha!! Good point.

Plan B....Use one of their computers to email her, a family member or friend who could tell me her number.

Re: A digital season ticket will be a disaster
Not by choice. I have a Freedom pass and it doesn't allow you to load it onto your phone. I would if I could. Same as my current season ticket so I'm looking forward to storing next season's st on my phone.

What phone number are you asking Apple to call Mrs oioi on?

I don’t know anyone’s phone numbers any more

Re: A digital season ticket will be a disaster
Ah, so you have a travel ticket option separate from your phone. :-)

Apple users never stray more than a comfortable walking distance from an open Apple store when they are out and about.

The things you learn on here.

Obviously it would depend on circumstances but I reckon I could go into an Apple store and get them to contact mrs oi who could pay for a phone with her credit card. My phone is backed up to the cloud so I could set up the new phone from my back up. Back in business!

If I was on may way to football I could go to the ticket office, tell them my membership number and get them to print a ticket. Train home would be ok because my Freedom pass isn't on my phone.

There's always a way....

Yup. Sensible.
It's great to have everything available on your phone, but to have everything ONLY on your phone is definitely a risk

I'll always carry a debit card with me, and also a bit of cash. If even for no other reason than in case i need a shit at a mainline railway station :)

What would you do if you were miles from home and your phone was lost, stolen or out of charge?
I’d happily have all my memberships, work access, ST on my phone but would always want my travel & a money alternative separate to that.

I'm not saying mobile phones are not useful - far from it.

It's controlling that use that is important and many just can't/won't do that.

Forgot to say that using your phone to pay for petrol at the pump is excellent.

Most new digital ideas are clumsy at first. My bank cards are on my phone, my ST and Freedom pass are in my wallet. Would prefer the whole lot on my phone but progress is haphazard at best.

Re: A digital season ticket will be a disaster
I guess it’s personal preference and I understand the security of the phone but I prefer to carry a debit & credit card in a card holder as well as a separate Oyster card alongside my phone.
Not keen to be 100% reliant on the phone to do everything when it can be lost or out of charge.
